Los Ojos
This pattern incorporates a traditional nine-element design, consisting of three rows of three central elements. The design was inspired by the art of Native American pueblo dwellers of the American Southwest. The dwellings were often covered with adobe and embellished with angular, geometric designs such as those that create the intricate pattern of this blanket. Diamond, crosses, arrows, and stepped, zigzag lines are common to Native American traditions. Crosses often represent the four directions and zigzag lines, lightning or mountains.

Moab
This design is inspired by the prehistoric rock art in the area around Moab, Utah. The Moab incorporates stylized bear claws, bison horns and other animal symbols, as well as classic Anasazi zigzags, which represent mountains or lighting.

Storm Pattern
The Storm Pattern traces its origins to the legend of the creation of the Navajo homeland. In the blanket's center is the first hogan, the original house in which the Navajo people began to arrange their world. The hogan is surrounded by four sacred mountains, symbolized by rectangles near each corner.

Penasco
This bold, geometric design is patterned after the rich textile traditions of Mexican weavers. In the early 1600s Spanish colonists brought traditional two-shuttle looms with them up the Camino Real from Mexico. They also brought with them Churro sheep which became the foundation for a thriving weaving tradition in the settlements along the Rio Grande.

Yavapai
The nomadic Yavapai or "People of the Sun" once occupied much of central Arizona. Yavapai women specialized in basketry, with some items woven tightly enough to hold water. This vivid pattern reflects the intricate Yavapai art of basketry. Like the original Native American trading blankets, it is unnapped.
